Ips typography

Ips typography is a usable font, based on the intricate tunnel patterns the spruce bark beetle leaves behind in tree bark.

The Plot was covered in – now mostly decaying or decayed – evidence of the bark beetle’s devastation.

I commissioned Jeroen ‘JoeBob’ Graphics with designing a font. JoeBob is specialized in handwriting based font-design. Jeroen did a magnificent job making the font 26% readable, as per my request.
